Wear inner disposable surgical gloves first, then wear NRG. Fit the gloves by tightening the strips (Type B only). Wash hands Wear latex gloves Then don NRG (Type A) Wash hands Wear latex gloves Then don NRG (Type B) Tighten the Velcro strip Table 3 Wearing NRG (Type A and Type B) 5.2.1 How to prevent needle prick injuries in the workplace? Always wear NRG while handling domestic and infectious waste. Always beware of the possibility of sharp objects inside (black, yellow, and red coloured) waste bags as well as clinical sharps boxes Always collect the bin liner from the top end and tie it. Do not touch the waste or compress/press the bag, even when wearing NRG. While transferring the bin liner to the waste trolley, hold it from the top and carry it at chest level at 1 arm’s distance from your body, to prevent contact with the upper or lower body (such as thighs or knees) Do not rush while collecting the waste. Please note the use of needle/puncture resistant gloves must be in accordance with the correct waste handling procedures and does not eliminate the risk of needle pricks, if user does not follow SOP and training guidelines.
