Two- dimensional or 2-D shapes do not have any thickness and can be measured in only two faces. Question 1 Count the number of the 2d shapes we can find in the house and record the number. (look carefully to ensure you have located all the shapes) Practice Question: How many 2D shapes are there on the robot? Can you name and count them? Let’s look at Question 3c. What type of 4-sided shape has only two right angles? What would this shape would look like? (hint: an irregular shape). Let’s look at the shapes below. Which 4-sided shape has 2 right angles?

4 A triangle is a closed 2-dimensional shape with three sides. There are mainly 6 different types of triangles. • Based on the lengths of the sides, there are three types of triangles: scalene, isosceles, and equilateral triangles. • Based on the measures of its interior angles, there are three types of triangles: acute (if all angles are less than 90°), right (if one angle is 90°), and obtuse (if one angle is more than 90°) Shape d for example is a scalene triangle. Complete Activity B in your notebooks. Using a ruler, draw the four different types of triangles and name them.
