ASEAN has contributed to building long-term peace, security, and prosperity in the region. It has brought all countries in Southeast Asia together and helped reduce poverty in rural areas. ASEAN is already the world's fifth-largest economy with the third-largest labour force, and is expected to become the fourth-largest economic market by 2030.
