Endometrial Cancer – current facts Most common gynecological cancer EC patients tend to be obese : • SEER-analysis 2015: EC significantly associated with overweight/obesity (OR 1.95) • more than half of endometrial cancers are attributable to obesity Early stage in most of the cases Increased incidence in premenopausal women As obesity rates continue to rise, the incidence of endometrial cancer is expected to increase Models predict an incidence of 42.13 cases per 100,000 women by the year 2030, representing a 55% increase over 2010 Prevalence in the USA: 25,3/100000 Prevalence worldwide: 11,1/100000 Prevalence in low resource countries: 3,3/100000 Global cancer statistics 2018

How to plan the tratment? • Histopathologic type, FIGO grade, and LVSI (no/ focal/substantial) , molecular subtypes on biopsy • MRI for myometrial depth and cervical stromal invasion, lymph node metastases • PET CT, CT scan for peritoneal, ovarian, distant or LN metastases • Pre- operative assessment: family history; fertility status, general assessment and inventory of co-morbidities; Geriatric assessment
