Question Types Formulas Model Questions Answers Language Use Practice Questions 1 Giving and support- ing opinions Introduce and state your opinions clearly Support your opinions with reasons or examples Q: Do you think children should be made to wear a uniform to school? A: Yes, I think that children in middle school and high school should wear a uniform to school. I strongly believe that it is essential for giving children a sense of identity and unity. Young children can be very snobbish about fashion and often ridiculous and pick on children who don’t wear expensive or design clothes. If all school children have to wear a uniform, they will all look the same and so poorer children won’t be discriminated against by the richer children. Televisions are very appealing because you can actually see real footage of what’s being reported – for example, when I saw a report on the launching of a space rocket, I could actually see the rocket take off, the astronauts inside and all the spectators on the ground.
