BOX 60597 Purpose This document essential guidelines designed to ensure consistency, e ciency, and safety in the operations of the Highway Patrol. These procedures cover a wide range of activities, including tra c enforcement, emergency response, and public interactions. By adhering to the SOP, o cers can maintain high standards of professionalism and e ectiveness, reducing risks and enhancing public trust. The SOP also provides a clear framework for decision-making, helping to uphold the law while protecting the rights and well-being of the community. The importance of these procedures cannot be overstated, as they are fundamental to the successful and ethical functioning of the Highway Patrol.
Chain of Command The San Andreas Highway Patrol’s leadership structure is designed to instill a sense of responsibility, leadership, and cooperation. The Chain of Command serves as an e cient framework for the department’s operations. All members, regardless of rank, are required to follow the following Chain of Command: ● Commissioner ● Deputy Commissioner ● Assistant Commissioner ● Chief ● Assistant Chief ● Colonel ● Lieutenant Colonel ● Major ● Captain ● Lieutenant ● Master Sergeant ● Sta Sergeant ● Sergeant ● Corporal ● Trooper First Class ● Trooper ● Probationary Trooper
Communication 2.100 Callouts Tra c Stop: 10-11, vehicle model and color, occupants, location, units needed or not. Example: 10-11, black 2016 dodge charger, X2 occ., Yellow Jack, 32(s) needed. Backup request: 32s needed, location. Felony Stop: Code 5, vehicle model, occupants, location, amount of units needed to have two units, – including yourself –, on scene. Example: Code 5, black SRT hellcat, X2 occ., Harmony Spawn, two 32s needed. Motor Vehicle Accident: MVA/10-50, location, amount of involved individuals or vehicles, units needed or not. Example: 10-50, Route 13 Harmony Exit, two vehicles involved, 32s needed. Pursuit: 10-80, vehicle model and color, occupants, location. Example: 10-80, black dodge challenger, X2 occ, currently heading towards the airfield. Locations must be updated every 10 to 15 seconds. Any other requests or callouts (e.g. a bank robbery, suspicious activity, intoxicated individual) may be created with the formats 10-codes and formats above.
