1. 2012 P1 Evaluate 7 + 21 ÷ 3 × 7 - 7 7 + 21 ÷ 3 × 7 - 7 Step 1- Divide 21 by 3. = 7 + 7 × 7 - 7 Step 2- Multiply 7 by 7. = 7 + 49 - 7 = 56 - 7 = 49 Step 3- You can either start with 7 + 49 OR 49 - 7. Step 4- Subtract 7 from 56. 2. 2014 P1 Evaluate 14 + 3(7 – 2) – 2 × 5 14 + 3(7 - 2) - 2 × 5 Step 1- Multiply 3 with everything in the brackets. = 14 + 21 - 6 - 2 × 5 = 14 + 21 - 6 - 10 = 35 - 16 = 19 Step 2- Multiply -2 and 5. Step 3- Add 14 and 21 and subtract -10 from -6.
