1. Chief Complaint: Palpable lump in the left breast History of Present Illness: Jane Doe, a 52-year-old female, presents to the radiology department for a diagnostic mammogram of her left breast after her primary care provider detected a palpable lump during a routine breast exam. She reports that she first noticed the lump two weeks ago and has had mild tenderness in the area. No previous history of breast cancer or biopsies. Procedure Performed. A diagnostic mammogram (unilateral) was performed on the left breast using digital imaging with computer-aided detection (CAD) for enhanced image analysis. Standard craniocaudal (CC) and mediolateral oblique (MLO) views were obtained. Additional spot compression and magnification views were taken to further evaluate the area of concern. Findings: The imaging revealed a well-circumscribed, oval mass measuring approximately 1.2 cm in the upper outer quadrant of the left breast. No suspicious microcalcifications or architectural distortion were observed. The radiologist recommended a targeted ultrasound for further evaluation.
