The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. The line graph gives information about the average consumption of beef, lamb, chicken, and fish by each person in a nation of Europe from 1979 to 2004. Overall, while the consumption of chicken experienced an upward trend, a downward trend was recorded for the other kinds of food over the period given. In addition, the lowest figure was for fish in all years, whereas the highest was for chicken from 1989 onwards. With regard to beef and lamb, in 1979, the weekly amount of beef eaten by each individual was around 220 grams, after that it rose slightly to a peak of about 240 grams in the 1980s, before falling dramatically to over 100 grams in 2004. Meanwhile, starting with the second rank of precisely 150 grams in the first year, there was a significant fall to around 60 grams in the figure for lamb consumption in the final year. Turning to the other kinds of food, the consumption of chicken came in third at the beginning with approximately 140 grams, after which it witnessed a considerable growth to overtake that for lamb and beef to reach the highest level of over 250 grams at the end of the timeline. In contrast, a gradual decline from roughly 60 to 50 grams was reported in the figure for fish during the same time frame.
