UNIT-III HTML5 – SVG What is SVG? SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics HTML5 provides SVG technology to define graphics in a webpage. SVG is used to draw two-dimensional vector-based graphics on web pages. SVG graphics do NOT lose any quality if they are zoomed or resized. Every element and every attribute in SVG files can be animated. The element specifies the root of an SVG fragment. You can animate every element and every attribute in SVG files. SVG integrates with other W3C standards such as the DOM and XSL. Advantages of SVG:  SVG images can be created with any text editors  SVG images can be searched, indexed, scripted & compressed.  SVG images are scalable.  SVG images can be printed with high quality at any resolution. SVG Shapes SVG has some predefined shape elements that can be used by developers:  Rectangle  Circle  Ellipse  Line  Polyline  Polygon  Path These are the tags used to create SVG graphic images.
Embedding SVG Into HTML Pages HTML5 – SVG Circle: The SVG element creates circles, based on a center point and a radius. The coordinates of the circle's center are specified by the cx and cy attributes. And the radius of the circle is specified by the r attribute.Here is the SVG code:

SVG Code explanation:  An SVG image begins with an element  The width and height attributes of the element define the width and height of the SVG image  The element is used to draw a circle  The cx and cy attributes define the x and y coordinates of the center of the circle. If cx and cy are not set, the circle's center is set to (0, 0)  The r attribute defines the radius of the circle  The stroke and stroke-width attributes control how the outline of a shape appears. We set the outline of the circle to a 4px green "border"  The fill attribute refers to the color inside the circle. We set the fill color to yellow  The closing tag closes the SVG image
