Final Project Guidebook International Student Community Engagement (KKN Internasional) 2025 Project Title: Social Innovation Design Project 1. Introduction & Overview 1.1. Purpose Welcome to your ISCE Final Project. This is a capstone project designed as a culmination of your learning experience over the past six weeks. Its purpose is to challenge you to move from theory to practice by integrating the knowledge you have gained from the preparatory materials into a tangible, innovative, and context-specific project design. 1.2. Core Concept You are tasked with individually designing a detailed Social Innovation Project aimed at addressing a specific problem within a community in your assigned location (based on each placement that has been previously informed): Pesawaran Regency or Lampung Timur Regency. Your proposed solution must be directly informed by a synthesis of at least 3-5 core topics from your ISCE online sessions. 1.3. Final Outputs This is an individual project with two mandatory outputs: 1. A Detailed Project Report (in PDF format). 2. A Video Presentation (7-10 minutes, uploaded to YouTube). 2. Thematic Areas & Project Focus To ensure your project is relevant and impactful, you must choose one of the following thematic areas corresponding to your assigned ISCE regency. Conduct online research (using local news, government data, Google Scholar) to identify a specific, village-level problem within your chosen theme. A. For Students Assigned to Pesawaran Regency (Focus: Marine Tourism, Blue Economy, Coastal Conservation) Thematic Area Examples of Specific Problems to Investigate Sample Social Innovation Project Titles 1. Sustainable Ecotourism & Digitalization Inadequate waste management at beach destinations (e.g., Pahawang Island); lack of digital promotion for emerging tourist spots; low involvement of local communities as guides. "Waste-to-Cash: A Participatory Waste Management System for a Coastal Tourism Village"; "Digital Marketing for Local Tourism Groups (Pokdarwis) Through Creative Content"; "A Training Program for Conservation-Based Local Tour Guides".
Thematic Area Examples of Specific Problems to Investigate Sample Social Innovation Project Titles 2. Blue Economy & Coastal Empowerment Income fluctuation for fishing families; lack of diverse processed seafood products; long supply chains that disadvantage fishermen. "Blue-preneur: Developing Innovative Processed Fish Products with Fisherwomen's Groups"; "‘Direct from the Sea’: A Digital Platform to Shorten the Fishermen's Supply Chain"; "A Financial and Business Management Literacy Program for Fishing Families". 3. Coastal & Marine Conservation Coastal abrasion due to mangrove degradation; coral reef damage from irresponsible tourism; marine plastic pollution. "Adopt-a-Mangrove: A Community-Based Digital Scheme for Coastal Preservation"; "Educating Responsible Tourists Through Interactive Signage and Social Media Campaigns"; "A Workshop for Upcycling Plastic Waste into Tourist Souvenirs". B. For Students Assigned to Lampung Timur Regency (Focus: Agriculture, Wildlife Conservation, Rural Economy) Thematic Area Examples of Specific Problems to Investigate Sample Social Innovation Project Titles 1. Innovative Agriculture & Food Security Low prices for cassava/corn during peak harvest; crop damage from pests; reliance on expensive chemical fertilizers. "Mocaf-Preneur: Training on Mocaf Flour and Pastry Production to Increase Cassava's Value"; "The Organic Pesticide House: Using Local Plants for Eco-Friendly Pest Control"; "An Organic Farming Field School for Young Farmers". 2. Human- Wildlife Conflict Mitigation Crop raiding by elephants from Way Kambas National Park (TNWK); lack of early-warning systems for villages; few alternative livelihoods for communities in buffer zones. "A Community-Based Elephant Early- Warning System Using Traditional Gongs and WhatsApp"; "A Communal Crop Insurance Model for Damage Caused by Wildlife"; "Developing ‘Elephant-Friendly Coffee’ as an Ecotourism Product for TNWK Buffer Zone Villages". 3. SME Digitalization & Women's Empowerment Local SMEs (e.g., Tapis weavers, snack producers) lacking a digital presence; low digital literacy among female entrepreneurs; limited access to wider markets. "Go-Digital East Lampung: Training on Product Photography, Social Media, and Marketplace Registration for SMEs"; "The Digital Smart Women Program: Building Online Marketing Capacity for Farmer- Women Groups"; "Building a Collective Brand for a Village's Signature Products".

Define this problem by synthesizing insights from at least 2-3 different ISCE online topics (e.g., view a waste problem through the lenses of public health, circular economy, and social behavior change). • Chapter 2: Theoretical & Conceptual Framework o Select the 3-5 most relevant topics from your 6-week ISCE online activities. Explain the key concepts from each topic and justify why they form the theoretical foundation for your proposed solution. • Chapter 3: Social Innovation Design o This is the core of your report. Provide full details of your proposed project, including: ▪ Project Name: A creative and descriptive title for your innovation. ▪ Objectives & Target Beneficiaries: What you aim to achieve and who will benefit. ▪ Mechanism & Workflow: A step-by-step description of how your project works. ▪ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): How will you measure success?
