Spark PCMB Biomolecules are chemical compounds found in living organisms. They include organic and inorganic compounds.
HOW TO ANALYSE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION? Spark PCMB Take a living tissue (e.g. a vegetable or piece of liver etc). Grind it in trichloroacetic acid (Cl3CCOOH) using a mortar and a pestle to get a thick slurry Strain the slurry through a cheesecloth or cotton to get 2 fractions 1. Filtrate (acid-soluble pool) Contains Biomicromolecules. (Molecular weight is less than 1000 Dalton). It represents the cytoplasmic composition. 2. Retentate (acid-insoluble fraction) Contains Biomacromolecules (Molecular weight is greater than 1000 Dalton). It contains molecules from cytoplasm and organelles.
