1 CHAPTER THREE Classification of Leave and Regulations 3.01 Classification of Leave 3.01.01 Weekly Holiday 3.01.02 Public Holiday 3.01.03 Annual Leave 1. Earned Leave 2. Extra Ordinary Leave 10. Transfer Leave 3.01.01 Weekly Holidays 1. Weekly holidays will be Friday and Saturday for all staff except service staffs. 2. The security guards (male) will be entitled to two-day holiday per month as per one day for every 15 working days. Female security guards will enjoy one day as weekly holiday. However, working hours and other terms of services for them will remain unchanged. 3.01.02 Public Holiday List of the annual holidays will be published at the beginning of the year.
2 3.01.03 Annual Leave This leave will be applicable for all regular, service (graded & non-graded), contractual and project staff. Approval process of Annual Leave will be in accordance with the clause 12.01 of Table of Authority. 2. This leave can be carried forward up to maximum 60 days to the subsequent years. 3. According to the clause 3.04.02, leave encashment will be paid at the time of final payment. 1. Earned Leave 1. Earned Leave will be entitled to all non-confirmed regular staff, service staff and contractual staff working for less than one year and project staff. 2. Earned Leave means leave on a working day, that is, weekly, festival or other holidays will not be included in Earned Leave. Earned Leave will be with payment. To enjoy Earned Leave, staff of Head Office will apply in prescribed form (Annexure 12/28) or online (online leave/visit option of My BRAC) and staff of Field Office will apply in prescribed form (Annexure 12/28) according to the Table of Authority. 3. Earned Leave will be converted proportionally into Yearly Leave after the confirmation of the staff. 2. Half Day Leave 1. For Head Offices of BRAC and Aarong, first half will be considered from the starting time of office till 1:00 PM and second half from 1:00 PM till the end of the office.
3 2. Half Day Leave is applicable for Head Office & Field Office staff of BRAC and Aarong. 3. Half Day Leaves will be deducted from Annual Leave. Maximum 12 Half Day Leaves can be taken in a year. 4. Half day Leave will be considered as full day leave in case staff entertains more than 12 Half Day Leaves. 5. Half day leave during the month of Ramadan will be determined in accordance with circular. 3.01.04 Special Leave Approved application of any kind of Special Leave will be submitted to HRD immediately after enjoying the leave. 1. Sick Leave All the staff in both Head & field offices are entitled to avail half/ full day sick leave with pay for maximum 5 (five) working days in a year. Unused leave will be lapsed at the end of the year and ‘Payment Instead of Leave’ will not be applicable. 1. In case of availing Sick Leave, staff will inform concerned supervisor through SMS, phone call, e-mail etc. within the first half of that working day. 2. Leave will be approved by the first concerned supervisor. 3. If any staff is on Sick Leave for continuous three working days or more, after joining, the Head Office staff must submit prescription of registered physician to HRD and the field office staff must submit it to their concerned Accounts Department. 4. Newly joined staff will avail Sick Leave proportionately. To avail the above-mentioned leave, Head Office staff will apply through online leave application (online leave/visit option of My BRAC) and Field Office staff will apply through leave application form (Annexure 12/28) 2. Accidental or Surgery-related Leave This leave is eligible for staff in case of accident or surgery, Dengue fever, TB, Kidney problem, Typhoid, and Malaria etc. In case of hospitalization plus a maximum of 21 days will be considered
