Sent: 2 Jul 2025 | Deadline: 4 July 2025 Vencent UI/UX Design Screening Test Objective This test evaluates your ability to design user interfaces that are functional, visually appealing, and user-centric. You’ll be judged on your attention to detail, ability to spot missing use cases, design aesthetics, and problem-solving approach. Section 1: User Flow Mapping Time limit: 45 minutes Scenario Vencent’s product is an app that connects users with vendors and buyers. Users can register as either a Buyer or a Vendor, but no account creation is handled within the app. Registration is done manually via CMS. 1. Design a user flow for a first-time user who is opening the app. ○ The user should be prompted to choose whether they are registering as a Buyer or Vendor. ○ After selecting their role, guide the user through a clear, simple process that collects relevant basic information (ex: Name, Contact, Location, Category of interest, etc.). ○ After submitting the information, provide a confirmation screen thanking them for their registration and explaining the next steps (like waiting for approval or further instructions). 2. The flow should prioritize clarity and ease of use, particularly for a user who is unfamiliar with the process. 3. Explain why you made certain design choices and how they address potential confusion in the process. What we’re looking for: ● A logical user flow that emphasizes a smooth registration process. ● Clear communication about the manual nature of account creation. ● Intuitive steps that reduce friction for new users (especially first-time users who may be unfamiliar with the process).
Sent: 2 Jul 2025 | Deadline: 4 July 2025 Section 2: Visual Aesthetic & Branding Time limit: 1 hour Imagine Vencent has just launched a new feature that helps users find the best vendors or buyers faster through more refined search filters. You are tasked with creating the promotional screen for this feature. 1. The screen should be visually engaging and in line with Vencent’s branding. 2. Ensure that the text is minimal but clear, the imagery supports the value proposition, and the call-to-action is obvious. 3. Explain your design choices, particularly regarding color, typography, and visual hierarchy. What we’re looking for: ● A design that aligns with brand identity, communicates value clearly, and attracts attention to key actions while maintaining aesthetic appeal. Section 3: Empathy in Design Time limit: 30 minutes Scenario: Vencent’s app has received feedback that users, particularly first-time buyers, often feel overwhelmed by the number of vendor options available. They struggle to find vendors that best match their needs. 1. How would you address this problem from a design perspective? 2. Propose UI changes to make the vendor search process feel more personalized and intuitive for first-time buyers. 3. You may submit wireframes or mockups to visualize your adjustments. What we’re looking for: ● Empathy for the user, prioritizing simplicity and personalization, and creating an intuitive experience that reduces cognitive load. Section 4: Design Critique (Optional) Time limit: 20 minutes Select a design (either a popular app or something you’ve worked on previously) and give us a quick critique: 1. What’s great about the design? 2. What’s missing? 3. What could be improved, and how?
