It is crucial to define the right pricing for the right product to the right customer. To setup pricing in the SAP system there is a concept called condition technique. Condition Technique- What is Condition Technique? It is determining the price in a most Specific to most generic sequence withing the validity • A Technique used to determine valid prices • It is a configuration framework that allows you to define how prices elements are calculated based on various factors • Condition technique is a search sequence that determine how system searches and retrieves condition records • Different techniques, such as exclusive, inclusive, and requirement routines, can be used to control the determination process • This helps to create a complex Pricing rules and formulas that consider various factors to determine final price • This allows for flexible and dynamic pricing strategies based on specific requirements of business. • The condition technique consists of the following key elements: Condition table contains the key combination based on this key combination the appropriate pricing , discount , surcharges, and taxes can be determined. Access sequence contains the conditions tables and the system searches for the records from the table from most specific to general . If the system finds the condition record in the first table, then it will exit the search and will not proceed with the subsequent tables. Condition type controls whether it is a price , surcharge , discount , surcharge, or tax. Access sequence is assigned to the condition type so that the appropriate condition record is picked for the appropriate condition type. All the condition types are placed inside the pricing procedure and pricing procedure is assigned to the sales area , doc pricing proc and customer pricing procedure so that the appropriate pricing procedure will be determined during the transaction. Once the pricing setup is done by the OTC functional consultants , the end user maintains the actual pricing condition records in the appropriate condition table using VK11 t-code.
