WW - WRONG WORD back to main Khi viết IELTS Writing, HS thường có xu hướng dùng vocab không phù hợp ngữ cảnh làm mất điểm lexical resource của mình. Để hạn chế lỗi sai này cần phải 1) Chỉ dùng những từ/cụm từ mình thực sự hiểu (đã từng dùng/đã từng đọc thấy ai đó dùng) trong bài Writing. Đúng trước hay tính sau. Không được chế từ hay sự kết hợp từ vì mỗi từ có collocation cụ thể. 2) Trước khi dùng 1 từ mới cần phải kiểm tra lại xem nó có phù hợp với ngữ cảnh không bằng cách bước sau đây - Dò lại từ đó trên 1 conventional dictionary (Oxford/Cambridge/Longman) đọc kĩ các ví dụ để xem có ai dùng như mình không - Check kĩ collocation của từ đó ở Freecollocation để biết những từ phù hợp đi chung (e.g. considerable benefits) - Check lại trong thực tế có native speaker nào sử dụng như vậy không bằng cách search google cả cụm (chứ ko phải search 1 từ) VD: khi kiếm synonym của benefits để paraphrase câu “the benefits of online news are greater than those of newspapers”. Chúng ta kiếm thấy từ đồng nghĩa của benefits là advantage và asset. Để kiểm tra xem từ nào đúng thì có thể search cả cụm “the advantages of online news” & “the asset of online news”. Đọc title của kết quả tìm kiếm nếu thấy xuất hiện cả cụm đó thì tức là nó đúng và có được dùng trong thực tế. 5
