Start thinking about your brand’s visual world
Mood boards (tips) 1. Look beyond the digital world Go beyond Google!! Lowest denominator research tool. Libraries, etc. 2. Take pictures/snaps when you’re out Real world inspiration is all around us. typography, objects, colours, image 3. Curate what you include Don’t just shove a load of stuff together. Collect but then curate and try to introduce meaning and associations. 4. Choose the right format Online or physical? Manual or digital assembly? 5. Have a point of focus Build things up around 1 or 2 central images which are “key” theme images. smaller supporting images around the larger image should answer questions, clarify the messae given in the larger one. 6. Get tactile don’t be afraid to get physical. The tactile nature of cut-out images enhances the emotiveness of what’s being explained/shown. 7. Keep things loose Locking an idea or a style down in a mood board can be detrimental, as the client will feel shoehorned into going with a particular aesthetic. Keep everything a little loose and don’t make everything look too final. some info sourced from creativebloq.com
