OBJECTIVES: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Review the first conditional sentences - Know the use of modal verbs in conditional type 1. 2. MATERIALS: - Grade 9 textbook, English workbooks and reference books for grade 9. - Computer connected to the Internet - Projector/ TV/ Handout - hoclieu.vn C. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Ss’ activities I. Warm up (3ms) - Greeting - Give 2 sentences and ask them to comment. 1. If I have time, I will visit you 2. ________________________________________________________________________ 2 - Ss write down: - Forms: If S + V(hiện tại đơn), S + will + V-infi. -Use: Nêu điều kiện có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai. - Thay vì will, chúng ta có thể sử dụng những động từ khuyết thiếu khác như: can, must, may, might hoặc should ở mệnh đề chính để chỉ khả năng, lời khuyên, sự có thể xảy ra, sự cần thiết. - Cấu trúc biến thể: If S + V(hiện tại đơn), S + can/ may/ might/ must/ should + V Examples: 1. If you feel unwell, you shouldn't eat fast food. => advice (lời khuyên) - Divide the class into 5 groups. + G1: write the sentence in first conditional with “can” + G2: write the sentence in first conditional with “ might” + G3: write the sentence in first conditional with “must” + G4: write the sentence in first conditional with “ may” + G1: write the sentence in first conditional with “should ” -T collects the sentences and corrects them. III. Practice (22 ms) - Hand out exercises to students. - Ask Ss to do exercises on handouts individually. - Call some Ss to write their answers on the board - Get the other Ss to comment and give correct answers. - Recognize right answers then give marks. - Do exercises individually. - Perform the answers on the board. - Correct and write the right answers. IV. Consolidation (3 ms) - Ask ss to retell the simple present tense - Retell V. Homework (2 ms) - Learn by heart the simple present tense. - Listen and write
