ACTIVITIES RESPONSES Module 1: Winged Buddies Period 1: Diversity of Birds (40 minutes) Introductory Activity (5 minutes) Start the class by playing a bird's song. For example, play the sound of a White-cheeked Barbet ("Kutroo.... Kutroo.... Kutroo...."). Ask the students if they have heard this sound and if they can identify the bird. Activity 1: "Write-the-Name Game" (10 minutes) Ask all students to take a piece of paper and write the names of the birds they know in five minutes. After the time is up, have them pass their papers to their friends sitting next to them. The student who has written the most names wins. Then, combine everyone's list to create a master list on the board. Supporting a Student with Learning Difficulties: Provide them with simple pictures of birds and ask them to color them. Activity 2: Album Display (15 minutes) Display a digital album of various bird pictures in the classroom. Ask the students to observe the pictures closely.
