UNIT 2: NUMBERS I. OBJECTIVES By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: - Remember and read the numbers from 1 to 20 - Ask and answer about the questions of quantity II. Language Focus 1. Vocabulary: New words related to the topic 2. The structure: How many + subjects + are there? How many + subject 1+ have/has + subject 2 + got? III. PROCEDURES Stages Teacher’s activity Student’s activity Purpose Note Warm up (the T can choose one activity from these) - Greet the S - Have a small talk with the S about their friend/idol/daily routine/anything - Lead the S to the lesson by let the S listen to “Numbers song” - Talk with the T - Help the student to brainstorm about the topic Pre- teaching Numbers - Show number from 1 to 20 for the S - Read aloud each number in the table for the S - Ask the S to listen and count with the T - Give feedback Vocabulary - Give the S new words that they may have in the lesson + Numbers from 1 to 20 + Book (n) + Shoes (n) - Listen to the T, note on the notebook if necessary - Provide new knowledge which is included in the lesson for the student
+ Bed (n) + Giraffe (n) + Ball (n) - Ask the S to listen and repeat The structure - How many + subjects + are there? - How many + subject 1+ have/has + subject 2 + got? - Give the S the usage of the structure: This structure is used to ask and answer about the quantity - Read aloud the structure and give the meanings in Vietnamese - Ask the S to take note the structure on the notebook - Give example - Ask the S to make example - Give feedback While- teaching Task 1. Write the numbers - Ask the S to read all words - Ask the S to write the numbers which represent for the words - Check the answer and give feedback - Ask the S to read the numbers again to help the S remember the numbers deeply Task 2. Look at the letters. Write words for six things in the picture - Ask the S to look at and spell the letters to help the S associate with the new words - Do the exercises through the T’s instructions - Interact in English as much as possible - Practice the knowledge they have learnt in “pre- teaching” stage - Interact in English with the T to improve reflection

Listen! Write a name or number - Ask the S to read all questions and give the meaning of them - Identify the answer of each question whether it is name or number - Play the tape for the S - Ask the S to listen and answer the questions - Check the answer and give feedback Task 5. Listen and draw lines between the letters and numbers. - Ask the S to look at the letters and spell it

Color and draw - Ask the S to answer the questions to review the structure “How many…”: + How many Bs are there in the picture? + How many Gs are there in the picture? - Ask the S to color the picture with the suggestion: Bs for brown, Gs for green Post- teaching Play a game: Bingo - Ask the S to draw a square of 3x3 - Give the rules to play: the S must make a horizontal, diagonal OR vertical line to get a BINGO - Listen to the T and play the game - Help the S to remember the new words deeply Wrap up - Summary the lesson - Homework - Goodbye - Listen to the T - Do homework at home - Let the student remember what they learnt and practice at home
