All instruments used for tests, including equipment’s for subsidiary measurements (e.g. for environmental conditions) shall be calibrated before being put into service. 6.2. The program for calibration of instruments is designated and operated so as to ensure that calibration and measurements made by the lab are traceable to the international system of units (SI), refer to equipment procedure QP 6.4 6.3. Calibration is conducted for the equipment using SI units that provide the lab with certificates of calibration linking the calibrations to measurements made by an agency which meet CONFORMITY ASSURANCE LABORATROY requirements that had been documented under purchasing services and supplies procedure, QP 6.4 6.4. Thermometers and balances are calibrated every year unless specified other than that. 6.5. The date of calibration and the date of the next calibration that is due is included in the calibration certificates. 6.6. Calibration is verified during the performance of testing. The frequency of calibration is identified in the test method or per lab instrument working instructions. Servicing is requested from the calibration lab when data acceptance criteria for verification are not met and the analyst is unable to effect corrective action 6.7.
