BÀI 9 SO SÁNH (TÍNH TỪ VÀ TRẠNG TỪ) 1. SO SÁNH BẰNG S1 + V + as + adj/ adv + as + S2 + auxiliary V S1 + V + as + adj/ adv + as + O/ N/ pronoun Ví dụ: - She is as tall as I am. = She is as tall as me. (Cô ấy cao bằng tôi.) - He runs as fast as I do. = He runs as quickly as me. (Anh ấy chạy nhanh như tôi.) o So sánh phủ định (không bằng): not as / so + adj + as Ví dụ: He is not as / so intelligent as me (I am). (Anh ấy không thông minh bằng tôi). 2. SO SÁNH HƠN a. Với tính từ ngắn và trạng từ ngắn (có một âm tiết): S1 + V + adj-er/ adv-er + than + S2 + Auxiliary V S1 + V + adj-er/ adv-er + than + O/ N/ Pronoun Ghi chú: Auxiliary verb: trợ động từ; pronoun: đại từ Ví dụ: - They work harder than I do. = They work harder than me. (Họ làm việc chăm chỉ hơn tôi.) - Today is hotter than yesterday. (Ngày hôm nay nóng hơn ngày hôm qua.) b. Với tính từ dài và trạng từ dài (có nhiều hơn 1 âm tiết) S1 + V + more + adj/adv + than + S2 + Axillary V S1 + V + more + adj/ adv + than + O/ N/ Pronoun Ví dụ: - He is more intelligent than I am. = He is more intelligent than me. (Anh ấy thông minh hơn tôi.) - My friend did the test more carefully than I did. = My friend did the test more carefully than me. (Bạn tôi làm bài kiểm tra cẩn thận hơn tôi.) 3. SO SÁNH HƠN NHẤT a. Với tính từ ngắn và trạng từ ngắn: S + V + the + adj-est/ adv-est Ví dụ: - He runs the fastest in my class. (Anh ấy chạy nhanh nhất lớp tôi.) b. Với tính từ dài và trạng từ dài: S + V + the + most + adj/ adv Ví dụ: - He drives the most carelessly among us. (Anh ấy ấy lái xe ẩu nhất trong số chúng tôi.) 4. QUY TẮC THÊM ĐUÔI -ER VÀ -EST VÀO SAU TÍNH TỪ/TRẠNG TỪ o (i) Tính từ/trạng từ kết thúc bằng 1 nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm phải nhân đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm -er hoặc -est Ví dụ: big - bigger; hot - hotter o (ii) Tính từ/trạng từ tận cùng bằng e chỉ cần thêm -r, -st Ví dụ: brave - braver; large - larger o (iii) Tính từ/trạng từ hai âm tiết tận cùng bằng một phụ âm + y, đổi y thành i và thêm er hoặc est. happy - happier; dry - drier Các trường hợp đặc biệt o (i) Nếu một tính từ/ trạng từ 2 âm tiết nhưng có tận cùng là “y, le, ow, er” thì ta sẽ coi nó như một tính từ/ trạng từ ngắn. SO SÁNH KÉP a. cấu trúc so sánh “...càng ngày càng...” o Đối với tính từ ngắn và trạng từ ngắn S + V + adj-er/ adv-er and adj-er/ adv-er Ví dụ: - It is hotter and hotter. (Trời càng ngày càng nóng.) - He works harder and harder. (Anh ấy làm việc càng ngày càng chăm chỉ.) o Đối với tính từ dài và trạng từ dài S + V + more and more + adj/ adv Ví dụ: - The film is more and more interesting. (Bộ phim càng ngày càng thú vị.) - He ran more and more slowly at the end of the race. (Anh ấy chạy càng ngày càng chậm ở phần cuối cuộc đua.) b. Cấu trúc so sánh “càng .... càng...” o Đối với tính từ ngắn và trạng từ ngắn: The + Adj-er/ Adv-er + S1 + V1, the + Adj-er/ Adv-er + S2 + V2 Ví dụ: - The cooler it is, the better I feel. (Trời càng mát mẻ, tôi càng cảm thấy dễ chịu). - The harder we study, the higher scores we get.
