NATIONAL GUARD GATE DIRECTIVES I Gate Guard Authorization & Zone Restrictions All National Guard (NG) personnel are authorized to perform gate duty. Under no circumstance is the secondary gate to be used unless a raid is upon the main gate. Specific access and movement are dictated by designated zones at the main gate: I.1 Red Zone This area is restricted to NG personnel only. All other individuals, including civilians, are prohibited from entering. Logistics (L+) personnel are exempt from this restriction. I.2 Blue Zone All teams may enter this zone. However, Military Police (MP), NG Headquarters (HQ), and personnel with a rank of Sergeant First Class (E7), Second Lieutenant (O1), or higher, reserve the right to restrict access. Civilians entering the Blue Zone may be searched and asked to leave if found to be carrying a weapon. I.3 MP Area This is a restricted zone accessible only to Military Police personnel. II Rules of Engagement (RoE) Personnel are to maintain a strict "no-contact" policy with individuals outside the gate. If some- one approaches too closely, a single verbal warning of "Step Back!" is sufficient. HICOM+ personnel are exempt from this rule. Engaging in combat is a clear violation of these rules and warrants immediate response. II.1 Crossing the Red Line If an individual crosses the red line, they must be given a verbal warning: "W1 - Step back behind the red line!" Failure to comply will result in non-lethal tap shots at intervals until they retreat. If the individual breaches the red zone and continues past it, they may be arrested or immediately terminated if no MP is present for trespassing. Military Police should not arrest individuals who only briefly trespass into the red zone. II.2 Ground for Lethal Force The following actions are considered grounds for lethal force: Firing a weapon at any NG personnel stationed at the gate. Firing a weapon at any individual within/near the NG base. 3
