Antisocial or Homebody? SIGNS OF ANTISOCIAL PERSONALITY A person with antisocial personality disorder may: • exploit, manipulate or violate the rights of others • lack concern, regret or remorse about other people's distress • behave irresponsibly and show disregard for normal social behaviour • have difficulty sustaining long-term relationships • be unable to control their anger • lack guilt, or not learn from their mistakes • blame others for problems in their lives • repeatedly break the law A person with antisocial personality disorder will have a history of conduct disorder during childhood, such as truancy (not going to school), delinquency (for example, committing crimes or substance misuse), and other disruptive and aggressive behaviours. SIGNS OF HOMEBODY PERSONALITY For a homebody the phrase, “Home is where the heart is,” is a literal one. And they want their heart at home as often as possible. In their minds, home is the ultimate comfort zone and place they can enjoy total relaxation. • You pride yourself on the creativity it takes to come up with excuses to break plans. • You prefer Netflix to the theater. • Bad weather is your favorite. • You know all the takeout delivery guys on a first name basis. • You prefer social media over real-life relationships. • You get really excited when someone else cancels their plans with you. • You think going to a nightclub is pretty much the worst thing on the planet. • Nature doesn’t interest you in the least. • You look forward to the weekend so you can relax. • You get a little jealous when your friends post a group photo on Instagram without you. Do you think you are an antisocial or a homebody person? Indoor persons Intermediate CONVERSATION
