Introduction Fish: Fishes are the oldest group of cold-blooded aquatic vertebrates which breathe by means of pharyngeal gills and propelling and balancing themselves by means of fins that are supported by dermal fin rays. They depend on water for their vital function, nutrient, respiration, reproduction etc. Fish vs Fishes: When talking about same species, the term ‘Fish’ can be used to refer to both single or multiple fish. For example: one rohu fish or five rohu fish. However, the term ‘Fishes’ usually refers to multiple species of fish. For example: one rohu and three tilapia fishes.
