I. Present perfect The present perfect is formed from the present tense of the verb have and the past participle of a verb. We use the present perfect: * for something that started in the past and continues in the present: They've been married for nearly fifty years. She has lived in Liverpool all her life. * when we are talking about our experience up to the present: I've seen that film before. I've played the guitar ever since I was a teenager. He has written three books and he is working on another one. * We often use the adverb ever to talk about experience up to the present: My last birthday was the worst day I have ever had. + and we use never for the negative form: Have you ever met George? Yes, but I've never met his wife. * for something that happened in the past but is important in the present: I can't get in the house. I've lost my keys. Teresa isn't at home. I think she has gone shopping. II. Present perfect tenses (2) . 1) Form : 1. Hiện tại hoàn thành (Present Perfect tense) (+) S + has/ have + PP + O. (-) S + has/ have + not + PP + O. (?) Has/ have + S +PP + O? - PP= Ved/ V3  Just/ ever/ never/ already  Since + mốc thời gian  Since + QKĐ, HTHT  For + khoảng thời gian  So far, not ......yet, up to now, lately, before (cuối câu)  Twice, three times, many times.. 2) Usage : - Thì HTHT diễn tả hành động vừa mới xảy ra, vừa mới kết thúc, thường đi với trạng từ “just” eg. We have just bought a new car. - Thì HTHT diễn tả một hành động bắt đầu từ quá khứ , còn kéo dài đến hiện tại và có khả năng tiếp tục ở tương lai. Eg. I have studied English for five years. - Thì HTHT diễn tả hành động xaỷ ra trong quá khứ mà không biết rõ thời gian. Eg. I have gone to Hanoi. - Thì HTHT diễn tả hành động được lặp đi lặp lại nhiều lần ở quá khứ. Eg. We have seen Titanic three times. - Thì HTHT dùng sau những từ so sánh ở cấp cao nhất.( trong lời bình phẩm) Eg. It’s the most boring film I’ve ever seen.

Eg. This is the first time I’ve lost my way. -Thì HTHT dùng với This morning/ This evening/ Today/ This week/ This term...... Khi những thời gian này vẫn còn trong lúc nói. Eg. I haven’t seen Loan this morning .Have you seen her? Note : - Gone to khác với Been to. Eg. Marry has gone to Paris (đang ở hoặc đang trên đường đến Pari) Marry has been to Paris (đã đến nhưng bây giờ không còn ở Pari) 3.Adverbs : - just, recently, lately :gần đây, vừa mới; already :rồi - ever :đã từng ; never :chưa bao giờ - yet: chưa (dùng trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn) - since :từ khi( chỉ thời điểm mà hành động bắt đầu) - for : khoảng(chỉ khoảng thời gian của hành động ) - so far =until now =up to now =up to the present : **Thì HTHTTD : S + have been + Ving. Sử dụng tương tự thì HTHT nhưng muốn nhấn mạnh tính liên tục của hành động. Eg. You have been learning English for 5 years. Examples: 1. I have seen that movie twenty times. 2. I think I have met him once before. 3. There have been many earthquakes in California. 4. People have traveled to the Moon. 5. People have not traveled to Mars. 6. Have you read the book yet? 7. Nobody has ever climbed that mountain. 8. Has there ever been a war in the United States? - Yes, there has been a war in the United States. 9. I have been to France. 10. I have been to France three times. 11. I have never been to France. 12. I think I have seen that movie before. 13. He has never traveled by train. 14. Joan has studied two foreign languages. 15. Have you ever met him? - No, I have not met him. 16. You have grown since the last time I saw you. 17. The government has become more interested in arts education.

Các từ nhận biết thì hiện tại hoàn thành - Before: trước đây; Ever: đã từng; Never: chưa từng, không bao giờ - For + quãng thời gian: trong khoảng (for years, for a long time,..) - Since + mốc thời gian: từ khi (since 2001,…) - Yet: chưa (dùng trong câu phủ định và câu nghi vấn) - …the first/ second…time : lần đầu tiên/ thứ hai.. - Just = Recently =  Lately: gần đây, vừa mới - Already: rồi - So far = Until now = Up to now = Up to the present: cho đến bây giờ Ví dụ:  - I have bought six bags so far. (Tôi đã mua sáu cái cặp cho tới bây giờ.) - Since 2015, Rosie has just met her husband twice.(Kể từ 2015 thì Rosie mới chỉ gặp chồng cô ấy hai lần.) 5.2. Vị trí của các trạng từ trong thì hiện tại hoàn thành - already, never, ever, just: sau “have/ has” và đứng trước động từ phân từ II. - already: cũng có thể đứng cuối câu. Example: I have just come back home. (Tôi vừa mới về nhà.) - Yet: đứng cuối câu, và thường được sử dụng trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn. Example: She hasn’t told me about you yet. (Cô ấy vẫn chưa kể với tôi về bạn.) so far, recently, lately, up to present, up to this moment, in/ for/ during/ over + the past/ last + thời gian: Có thể đứng đầu hoặc cuối câu. Example: I have seen this film recently. (Tôi xem bộ phim này gần đây.) III. THE PAST SIMPLE TENSE & THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
