Training and training verification are key factors for successful laboratory operations. 2. Scope 2.1. This procedure is applicable to all Conformity Assurance laboratory staff. 2.2. This procedure is covering different competence criteria e.g., education, training, experience, and skills. 3. Responsibilities 5.1. Lab manager 5.2. Quality Manager 5.3. Technical Manager 6. Process 6.1. Department Heads 6.1.1.Shall ensure that Them Departments staff is competent on the basis of education, qualification, training, technical knowledge, skills and experience. 6.1.2.Shall ensure that Them Departments staff shall act impartially and work in accordance with impartiality and confidentiality policy. 6.1.3.Shall establish and document competence for each lab staff allocated on the organization chart. ORG-01 6.1.4.Shall establish and document job description for each function that have an impact to laboratory activities, “Job Description QF-6.2-07” 6.1.5.Shall ensure continuous competence and monitoring lab staff for any significant deviations or bias for service standard and re-evaluate their competences. 6.1.6.Shall determine needs for training and growth of the technical- and quality skills of employees by establishing training schedule and rotation for all new employees and by ensuring personnel receive training and demonstrate competence, 6.1.7. Shall identify training needs programs and submit them to Lab Manager prior to fiscal year budget. 6.1.8.Quality Lead / super visor Shall train employees in quality control and quality assurance procedures. 6.2. personnel Procedure Conformity assurance Electrical lab – Dammam Issue date: 01.04.2024 V : 01 Code: QP-6.2 controlled E copy 6.2.1.Shall maintain and work to improve technical staff competence on the basis of education, training, skills and experience, 6.2.2.Shall implement technical training programs and maintain employee training curriculum files, 6.2.3.Shall review received training and ensured training files are complete, 6.2.4.Shall monitor employee performance to identify the need for retraining or additional continual education, and 6.2.5.Shall identify training needs resulting from new or revised procedures and processes. 6.2.6.Shall evaluate technician Measurement’s competences using MSA Form (QF-6.2-12 6.2.7.). 6.3. Staff 6.3.1. Shall follow procedure to maintain and improve their competence on the basis of education, training, skills and experience. 6.3.2. Shall complete required training within specified timeframe. 6.3.3. Shall become and stays knowledgeable in procedures and methods performed, NOTE: Employees are responsible for self-training, through reading current literature, technical papers, publishing technical papers. And change experience with higher levels as for example on-job training 6.3.4. Shall report all training received and submit documentation for training received; and 6.3.5.Shall read and comply with standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and work instructions. 6.4. Resources requirements procedures 6.4.1. Competencies requirements 6.4.1.1. Lab Manager shall define competences requirements for: 6.4.1.1.1. Quality manager 6.4.1.1.2. Technical manager 6.4.1.1.3. Lab analyst /chemist 6.4.1.1.4. Purchasing officer 6.4.1.1.5. Sales specialist 6.4.1.1.6. Housekeeping /office boy 6.4.1.2. Lab manager shall ensure that all abominated function has job descriptions describes required competences 6.4.2. Selection of personnel: 6.4.2.1. Lab manager shall select personnel for laboratory activities based on 6.4.2.1.1. CV 6.4.2.1.2. Education certificate 6.4.2.1.3. Previous work experience 6.4.2.1.4. Knowledge and Skills 6.4.3. Training requirements 6.4.3.1. lab manager, quality manager and technical manager shall define training mechanism/program to improve and enhance competences of laboratory staff for example: 6.4.3.1.1. on job training, training for quality and test methods 6.4.3.1.2. external training as per annual plan and budget 6.4.4. supervision of personnel
personnel Procedure Conformity assurance Electrical lab – Dammam Issue date: 01.04.2024 V : 01 Code: QP-6.2 controlled E copy 6.4.4.1. quality and technical manager shall supervise lab staff for a certain period of time to ensure that they understand and retain competence to laboratory activities, their roles and responsibilities 6.4.4.2. quality and technical manager shall retain records for supervision in employee’s file 6.4.5.Training Techniques 6.4.5.1. The training process for technical procedures such as laboratory testing consists of the following steps: a) Trainee reads the laboratory procedures, work instructions, and other applicable documents. b) Trainee observes demonstration of the procedure by a trainer. c) Trainee performs the procedure under observation by a trainer. d) Trainee successfully completes the procedure. e) Documentation of these tasks is submitted for filing in the employee’s training file. 6.4.5.2. The training process for non-technical procedures includes, but is not limited to: a) Reading laboratory procedures, b) Instructions, c) Demonstrations, d) Lectures and discussions, e) Self-study, f) Documentation of these tasks is submitted for filing in the employee’s training file. 6.4.6.An employee’s performance is verified by measurement against a define performance standard. The measures used to verify an employee’s performance will be considered as an assessment tool. 6.4.7. Assessment tools May include the following: 1. Administration of a Written Evaluation: Written evaluations can be used in areas where verification of a participant’s knowledge is desired. Knowledge of theory or principles, problem-solving ability, logical sequence used, and independent or group decision making may be ascertained 2. Observation of Procedure, Process, or Outcome: Observation by a trainer of an employee performing or demonstrating a procedure. 3. Response to Oral Queries Related to a Step or Procedure: Answers provided by the employee to questions asked by trainer. 4. Testing Blind QC Samples: Employees are unaware when blind test samples are assigned. They appear identical to other samples, are in routinely used containers, and are from a similar source. The intent is to provide simulated samples to measure realistic testing conditions. This tool assesses all phases of laboratory performance. 5. Testing of Known Samples: Participants know and often plan for known testing events, such as external proficiency surveys and commercially prepared quality control samples. Samples for quality assurance or quality control purposes are identified immediately upon receipt in the laboratory. It is considered a waste of time and resources to conduct more careful handling and analysis on these samples or perform duplicate testing. This tool assesses the testing phase only. 6.
