Students should be able to: • Define biodiversity and explain its importance. • Identify and describe various features of plants (e.g., stems, leaves, roots, venation). • Classify plants into herbs, shrubs, and trees based on their characteristics. • Differentiate between monocot and dicot plants. 1. Introduction to Biodiversity - Conduct a nature walk in the school grounds or a nearby park. Observe and record different plants and animals they see. Class discussion on the variety of life forms observed. 2. Plant Features and Classification - Collect various plant samples or pictures. Activity: Observe and record features of plants in a table (stem type, leaf shape, venation, etc.). Demonstration: Show examples of herbs, shrubs, and trees.
