Overview •Adnexal torsion: torsion of the ovary, fallopian tube or both around the vascular pedicle •As a surgical emergency, early diagnosis and surgery are necessary to restore ovarian function •Incidence rate #5/100,000 children, common in 02 age groups: perinatal and puberty, usually on the right side •Clinical: sudden, unilateral abdominal pain, vomiting •Diagnostic imaging: Ultrasound, MRI, CT, ultrasound is the first-line diagnostic method, safe, no radiation, higher sensitivity and specificity than CT 3
