ii Reinforcing Good Manners in Everyday Life - Grade 6 Students explore the role of family in shaping their values and behaviors. Just as Jesus lived in the Holy Family (Luke 2:52), children learn that respect, obedience, and love within the family strengthen their spiritual and moral growth. The Catechism reminds us that “prayer is the life of the new heart” (CCC 2697), teaching students that through prayer and the sacraments, they can grow closer to God and live in harmony with their families. Quarter 3: Practicing Justice, Compassion, and Stewardship in Light of Christ’s Teachings • GMRC: Promoting Justice, Compassion, and Environmental Stewardship • CLE: Moral Life – Christian Values, the Commandments, and the Beatitudes This quarter emphasizes the importance of living justly, caring for others, and protecting God’s creation. The Beatitudes remind us that “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). The Catechism states that “the moral life is a response to God’s call” (CCC 1691), showing students that their actions should always be guided by love, fairness, and a sense of responsibility toward others. Quarter 4: Serving God through Community Engagement and National Identity • GMRC: Community Engagement and National Identity • CLE: Pastoral Life – Catholic Social Teachings and Community Service As students learn about their roles as responsible citizens and community members, they are called to live out their faith through service and social responsibility. The Catechism states that “the human being is meant to live in society” (CCC 1879), emphasizing that true discipleship involves working for justice, peace, and the common good. By engaging in activities such as Pondo ng Pinoy, Alay Kapwa, and parish involvement, students learn that faith in action transforms both individuals and society. Shaping Future Leaders of Faith and Virtue This book aims to guide students in becoming responsible individuals and faithful followers of Jesus. Through GMRC, they develop habits of honesty, kindness, and responsibility, while CLE provides them with a strong foundation in their faith. Each lesson is an opportunity to grow in virtue and live out Christ’s teachings in their daily lives. With Jesus as their model, may every student who reads this book be inspired to live with love, serve with joy, and grow in holiness. As they discover the beauty of good manners and faith, may they always remember: Jesus is with them, leading them toward a life of virtue and service.
