Research, Strategy and Capacity Bukidnon State University (BukSU) is a level III tertiary education institution that recognizes research as a vital and dynamic component of its institutional identity. The university fosters a collaborative research environment, empowering faculty, students, and stakeholders to contribute to impactful outputs. These research products not only reflect BukSU's core mission but also address key research priorities at the local, regional, national, and international levels. Research, at BukSU, is more than an activity; it is a driving force. It fuels innovation, expands the boundaries of knowledge, and equips the university to address the complex challenges of our time. BukSU's comprehensive research agenda is strategically aligned with its institutional mission to deliver high-quality education, foster sustainable development, and contribute meaningfully to community welfare. The university is committed to continuous growth in research engagement, striving to generate knowledge that transforms lives and shapes a brighter future. A.1. University-wide Agenda/Program In advancing BukSU’s Research and Innovative Brand and reputation, Bukidnon State University’s aims to upscale faculty and student research competencies research agenda embodies its commitment to educational excellence, community development, and sustainability. Covering areas such as institutional research, education, health, ecology and environment, socio-economic-political- cultural studies, mathematics, science and technology, and the university research centers addresses critical societal challenges while promoting innovation and progress. Institutional Research: This area aligns with BukSU's mission by fostering educational improvement, quality assurance, and policy development in higher education. Studies on governance, accreditation, and resource management support the university’s goals to provide high-quality, accessible education, while also ensuring that institutional practices remain effective and relevant.
Education: The focus on teaching methods, instructional innovation, and curriculum impact directly supports BukSU’s mission to enhance educational quality and responsiveness. By advancing teacher education and instructional strategies, the agenda bolsters the university's dedication to preparing highly skilled educators who can positively impact their communities. Socio-Economic-Political-Cultural: This area includes research on cultural heritage, social issues, governance, and economic development. Research Centers: Per Bukidnon State University- Board of Regents Resolution No. 2132, s. 2021, on the approval of the creation of the four (4) Research Centers, shall be under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovations. It is composed of the following Centers: Center for Educational Analytics (CEA), Center for Local Governance (CLG), Center for Mathematics Innovation (CMI) and Center for Peace Studies (CPS). The establishment of the Research Centers arms the strengthening of the university's research outputs by providing technical and knowledge know-how to the faculty researchers.
