Far Eastern University Institute of Arts and Sciences Department of Mathematics - Chemistry BIO2101/MTY 1101 INORGANIC CHEMISTRY WELCOME TO LECTURE ORIENTATION
ABOUT THE COURSE A comprehensive course covering the fundamental concepts of inorganic and organic chemistry, blending facts with theory and application, particularly to the field of student’s interest, and generally to the physical world. Emphasis is given to the concepts, structures, nomenclature, properties, and processes of elements and compounds involved in inorganic and organic chemistry. CREDITS: 2 UNITS TOTAL LEARNING TIME: 36 HOURS / 18 WEEKS
COURSE OBJECTIVES AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE LEARNER WILL BE ABLE TO: 1. Analyze the physical and chemical laws, the structure of the basic units of elements and compounds, including their properties and reactivity. 2. Develop scholarly effort in understanding the basic concepts in inorganic and organic chemistry through research and experiments. 3. Discuss the different principles, theories, and laws of inorganic and organic chemistry and its applications to real- life situations. 4. Manage to solve life-related problems using scientific methods.
