3. At what age should children have their own smartphones? YOUR ANSWER: Some people believe that children should not have their own smartphones at a very young age. Firstly, one of the main reasons for their argument is that using smartphones can affect children’s study. In fact, children are easily addicted to smartphone apps and spend hours on playing games, watching videos or surfing the Facebook instead of concentrating on study. Secondly, another reason worth mentioning is that smartphone use can change the relationship between children and parents. This means that when children immerse themselves into the virtual world of the phone, they don’t want to communicate or share anything with their parents anymore. Lastly, it is undeniable that smartphones somehow can prevent children from sleeping. According to some scientific research, the light from the screen can activate the brain and make users always excited, so that’s why children find it difficult to sleep at night. To sum up, with the aforementioned reasons, I strongly believe that it is not a good idea to let children own a smartphone at an early age. Now, I will answer the follow-up questions: 1. I usually use my phone for many purposes like working, studying something new or keeping in touch with my friends and relatives. Besides, it can also serve my entertainment purposes when I can listen to music, play games or watch video on Youtube. 2. In my opinion, more smartphones will be sold in the future since people nowadays cannot live without them. Besides, in the future, the living standards may become higher, so people might need a smartphone to control everything in their life automatically. 3. I think when children get into secondary school, they should have their own smartphone. When studying at secondary school, they will need a smartphone to look up some information for homework or socialize with friends.
