Preparatory WORK (IF ANY) • Obtain relevant approved GFC drawings. • Day 1:-Back Side of Door Frame is painted with Black Japan paint. • Day 2:-Concreting of grade M15 is done on adjacent sides of door frame. • Day 3:-Concreting of grade M15 is done on 3rd side of door frame. • Curing is to be done for 7 days. • Concrete filled Door frames to be kept in horizontal position only. • Level to be marked on columns & walls where door frame is to be fixed. • Door frames are to be fixed taking reference from level dots marked for plaster. • Door frames are to be supported to avoid lateral sway. WORKMANSHIP- DOOR FRAME FIXING Door Frame Identification: First of all suitable door frame is to be identified as per drawing depending upon Size, rebate (single / double), LHS, RHS. Level: Main door frame of all flats on a floor are fixed at the same level. Then same level is to be transferred for all internal door frames. Line: Door frame is to be fixed in line taking reference from level dots marked for plaster. Plumb: Door frame is to be fixed in plumb. Fixing: Door frame is fixed using anchor fastener on prevailing column side and jammed using concrete on brick wall side with proper anchorage of holdfast. After that opening is to be checked at top, mid & bottom level. Bracing support is provided at mid level to maintain proper dimension. PROCEDURE • All level marking is done on respective walls and columns where door frame is to be fixed. • Suitable door frame depending upon Size, rebate (single / double), LHS, and RHS as per GFC is made to stand with reference to the lintel level & level dot. • Hole is made using drill machine where anchor fastener is to be used.
• Plumb of both legs of door frame is maintained from two sides one from front one from other perpendicular side. • Door frame is fixed using anchor fastener on prevailing column side and jammed using concrete on brick wall side with anchorage of holdfast. • After jamming line & plumb is checked once to ensure its alignment and verticality. • After that dimensions is to be checked at top, mid & bottom level using measuring tape. • Diagonal of the door frame is ensured. • Bracing support is provided at mid level to maintain proper distance. • Anti Corrosive primer is to be applied on door frame upto 300 mm from FFL after installation is done. INSPECTON • Black Japan paint is applied before casting the sides of door frames. • Before fixing the door frame it is ensured that the specification of door frame is as per GFC. • All door frames on a floor are fixed at the same level. • Alignment & verticality of door frame is maintained. • Right angle of door frame is maintained. • Opening of door frame is maintained at top, mid and bottom level. • Bracing is provided to maintain exact Opening. • Supports and bracing should not be disturbed up to 24 hours of fixing. • Timber wedges to be removed after fixing of door frame done. • PU paint to be applied on lower 150mm of both legs of door frame to avoid corrosion. • All surplus door frames to be removed same day after installation. • Bottom tie is to be removed after door frame is fixed.
