MMP Fresh Water Supply Background 3 MMP SWRO Plant Overview The nearest source of water is Sungai Tempadung just behind the mangrove area on north side of MMP site. This condition is considered to be very challenging in term of permit to exploit this water. Other available source of water is deep ground water (> 200m depth) inside MMP site area. Geoelectric study shows that it is salty water because of intrusion of sea water. Closest potential source of water is Wain River located at about 20km. Water supply for MMP Nickel Smelter was then decided to be sourced from sea, treated with Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant. EPC contract for a 6,210m3/day fresh water SWRO plant was awarded to PT Gapura Liqua Solution (GLS) on 11 July 2023.
MMP SWRO Plant : Location 4 MMP SWRO Plant Overview MMP SWRO Plant is to be located inside Utilities area at north‐east side, next to Process water tanks and Domestic water tank. Foot print will be 1,473m2 approximately (including area reserved for future BWRO)
