Key Crops: o Food Crops: Paddy, maize, wheat, and various vegetables are the primary food crops cultivated. o Cash Crops: Significant cash crops encompass fruits like mango, banana, lemon, and orange, as well as tea and coffee. Irrigation: In the fiscal year 2021/22, 70% of land holdings utilized irrigation facilities, underscoring the importance of irrigation in agricultural productivity. Agricultural Workforce: The 2021/22 census reported 39,190 permanent agricultural workers, indicating the scale of formal employment within the sector. Financial Aspects: o Agricultural Loans: By 2021/22, 12% of agricultural holdings had accessed agricultural loans, facilitating investment in farming activities. o Government Subsidies: 7% of agricultural holdings received government subsidies for agricultural activities. Among these, 46% received subsidies for chemical fertilizers, 35% for seeds, seedlings, or grass, 15% for agricultural equipment, and 8% for agricultural infrastructure, among other areas.
