Buying domains and adding to Google Workspace Why To protect your main domain's reputation during cold emailing, purchase secondary domains. Limit yourself to 2-3 sending accounts per secondary domain and send 30-50 emails daily, per sending account, to avoid deliverability issues. Opt for .com domains resembling your main one, without excess characters or numbers. GoDaddy is recommended for domain purchase due to its reliability. If your main domain is google.com, you could buy alternatives like trygoogle.com or getgoogle.com. A formula to calculate how many sending accounts and domains you need: ● Total required emails per day / 50 = Number of needed email accounts ● Number of needed email accounts / 3 = Number of needed domains How 1. Create a GoDaddy account here 2. Search for your desired domain name (guide here) 3. Uncheck all add-ons and switch to a 1 year registration then checkout (total should be $12) 4. Go to https://admin.google.com/ac/domains/manage (you must have a Google Admin account to proceed – if you do not have one, go through the steps in this guide here) 5. Click on “Add a domain” 6. Enter your new domain from GoDaddy 7. Select “Secondary domain” 8. Click “Add domain & start verification” 9. Sign in to GoDaddy to verify your ownership of this domain © growsaas.com - All rights reserved. DNS and other technical settings Why Configuring SPF, DKIM, and DMARC in your domain's DNS settings is essential. SPF specifies authorised email servers for your domain, DKIM adds a signature to verify emails, and DMARC enhances email security by indicating protection. Without these records, your email account's functionality may be compromised, potentially leading to scrutiny from email providers like Google. Forwarding is to ensure when someone visits your secondary domain, it redirects to your website. How 1. In Google Admin, under where it says “Verified” – click “Activate Gmail” 2. Select “Set up MX record” and click “Next” 3. Wait 5 minutes 4. Go to DNS settings of that domain in your GoDaddy account 5. Modify the “v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all” SPF record — change Name to just “@“ 6. Click “Save” 7. Delete the other SPF record — should be something like v=spf1 include:dc-aa8e722993._spfm....” a. Before deleting, you need to change the Value to “v=spf1” 8. Make sure you only have 1 SPF record: 9. Go to https://admin.google.com/ac/apps/gmail/authenticateemail 10. Select the domain you want to create the record for 11. Click “Generate new record” © growsaas.com - All rights reserved. 12. Click “Generate” 13. Copy the values and add a new TXT record in your GoDaddy DNS settings 14. Wait ~15 minutes then click “Start authentication” a. This typically takes around 48 hours! After clicking the “Start authentication” button, you can close that tab and move on to the next steps. 15. Go to https://easydmarc.com/tools/dmarc-record-generator?domain 16. Enter your domain where is says “Domain” 17. Enter your new email address tied to the domain where it says “Reports send to” a. You haven’t set up an email address yet, so enter what it will be for example: “[email protected]” 18. Select “none (monitoring)” for Subdomain policy 19. Select “Relaxed” for SPF and DKIM identifiers 20. Click “Generate” 21. Copy the value and add a new TXT record in your GoDaddy DNS settings a. The “Name” for this one should be “_dmarc” b. Click “Save” 22. Now, it’s time to set up forwarding to your main website 23. Copy and paste this link in your browser, but replace “NEWDOMAIN” with your new domain: https://dcc.godaddy.com/manage/NEWDOMAIN/setup/forwarding?itc=mya_vh_buil dwebsite_domain&postForwardExp=true 24. Scroll down to “Forward To Any Site” and enter your main website URL 25. Click “Next” then click “Finish” 26. Test it by going to your new domain and seeing if it takes you to your main website © growsaas.com - All rights reserved.
