Week 8 Preparing date: October 24 h , 2021 Period 15 Teaching date: October 26 th , 2021 REVIEW 1: PHIL AND SUE A.OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Listen and repeat the story. - Vocabulary: Revision - Structures: Revision - Skills: Reading and writing. 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love story Phil ans Sue, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Game: Vietnamese whisper. *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Procedure: - Divide the class into groups - Choose the leader of each group - Explain the rule: The leader of each group goes to the board and read the words which T gives in silence. After that they go back and whisper the words with their groups. The last person of each group will go to board and write all the words on the board - After finishing the game, the group writes down all correct words is a winner - T gets feedback. - Say “Open your book page 20 and look at Review 1- Phil and Sue 2. New lesson Activity 1. 1. Listen and repeat. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the story. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture of the boy, the girl and the speech bubbles. Introduce the two new characters Phil and Sue and help pupils identify them (their names, genders, clothes,...) by asking them some questions such as Who’s the boy? Who’s the girl? What are they doing? - Have pupils look at Picture 1 and describe the picture. Draw pupils’ attention to the boy (Phil), the girl (Sue) and the bubbles. - Play the recording several times for pupils to listen and repeat the bubbles, saying Now listen, point to the sentences and repeat, please! - Repeat the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4. - Play the recording of the whole story several times and have pupils listen, point to the speech bubbles and repeat until they feel confident. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Play the recording again and invite some pairs of pupils to listen to the recording and repeat the story in front of the class Activity 2. 2. Look and circle : *Aims: Ss will be able to identify the words for the pictures by circling them. *Procedure: - Explain how to do the task, saying Look at the pictures, find and circle the words, please! - Ask them to identify the thing/animals, -Ask pupils to repeat the words several times - Ask pupils to look at the pictures and circle the words in the chain. - Ask pupils to work in pairs and swap their work - Invite some pupils to show what they have done. - Praise them if they have done well, saying You did very well! or Great job! * Keys: dog, cat, duck, book 3. Homework: - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. - SS listen and play game. -SS open their book. -Look at the picture and listen. -SS listen and say -Ss do the task. -Ss repeat - Ss point and say -Ss tell their answer in front of class -Ss listen. -Ss listen and answer -Ss listen and repeat -Ss do the task -Ss work in pairs -Ss listen -Ss listen
