OVERVIEW - How steps/ stages there are + Step: starting point + ending point + Stage (generalize) - Any notable feature(s) Overall, the process encompasses six key steps, commencing with the injection of cold water into earth and culminating with the transmission of electricity to electrical towers/ power lines. It is also noteworthy that half of these steps occur underground, while the other half take place overground. Focusing on the first half, cold water stored in a tank is pumped down beneath the earth’s surface through an injection well to a depth of 4.5 km, reaching the geothermal zone, where the rocks are hot. As the water comes into contact with these rocks, it gets heated up and is subsequently channeled/ directed to a production well, from which it is brought/ pushed/ pumped back up to the surface. Overground, the heated water is collected by a condenser, where it is converted into steam. This steam is then directed to a turbine through a narrow opening. The force of the steam drives the rotation of the turbine, which in turn powers a connected generator. The generator converts this mechanical energy into electricity, which is finally transmitted to power lines for distribution.
