Finding people to interview It’s highly recommended you purchase a Sales Navigator subscription to do this, it’s a premium version of LinkedIn that enables you to search through LinkedIn’s database of people and companies easily. 1. If you don’t have Sales Navigator Use the native search function to find ideal people to interview. For example, If you want to target founders at marketing agencies, you could search for the keyword “founder” at companies within the “advertising services” industry. 2. If you do have Sales Navigator Sales Navigator makes it easy to find people and companies with advanced filters. Using the lead filters option highlighted below, add your desired filters and run a search. You can also use these searches to import a bulk list of leads to an automated outreach tool which will be shown in the following steps. Outreach to request interviews It’s recommended that you use tools to automate your outreach. They will save you hours and enable you to focus on tasks with higher leverage. Expandi is a good option. Completing interviews ● Record every meeting. You should use software like Read.ai, Fireflies.ai or equivalent to record the call. The transcripts generated by these tools can be analysed by ChatGPT, saving time. ● The questions provided are guidelines, not absolutes. The benefit of 1-1 interviews is that you can dig a layer deeper than surveys, don’t be afraid to ask the interviewee to expand on their answer so you can get the whole picture. Be inquisitive and find those underlying motivations. A great way to do this is by leveraging ChatGPT. If you used the recording software that was recommended, download the transcript as a .txt file and paste it into ChatGPT with the following prompt: The below text is a research interview, I'd like you to summarise it into key points. I'm the one asking questions, if you could distinguish between me (the interviewer) and clientName (the interviewee). Don't give a timeline of events, but focus on summarising the key takeaways from the interview, focusing on the interviewee's current situation, challenges they’re experiencing and current ways of solving them. Please provide the summary in bullet points. Please do not write in title case and please write in 11th grade level. Please also highlight common words or phrases they used that could benefit me with regards to messaging, targeting and product development.
