Peritoneal cavity
Peritonitis  Define : Inflammation of the membrane lining the abdominal cavity and internal organs.  Cause : infection (caused by bacteria or fungi), or non- infectious, due to chemical irritants such as pancreatic enzymes, stomach acid or bile,...  Popular causes : intra - abdominal inflammation, perforated viscus, trauma, intestinal ischemia and intestinal obstruction.  Usually presents acutely, as a local or systemic process.  Classify : According to the origin of the invading bacteria and the nature of the infection, have 3 types: primary(spontaneous), secondary (anatomy), and level 3.
