Section 2(d) author means,-- (i)in relation to literary or dramatic work, the author of the work; (ii) in relation to a musical work, the composer; (iii) in relation to an artistic work other than a photograph, the artist; (iv) in relation to a photograph, the person taking the photograph; (v) in relation to a cinematograph film or sound recording, the producer; and (vi) in relation to any literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work which is computer-generated, the person who causes the work to be created
Facts • Maulana Abul Kalam Azad wrote the book India Wins Freedom. Prof Humayun Kabir was associated with the writing of this book. Infact Azad narrated his life events in Urdu, which was translated by Humanyun Kabir and written in English • Azad reviewed the drafts and made corrections and modifications to the text where required • Manuscript was ready in 1957 but Azad died in 1958 prior to publication of the book • In 1958, Prof. Kabir wrote to National Archives requesting them to act as trustees for the complete manuscript, including 30 pages which were required to be published after 30 years of Maulana Azad's death i.e. after 22nd February, 1988.
