Self-presentation manual ● How many projects you managed to work on during this period (number only); What industries these projects are related to (fintech, sales, market, etc.) ● Your main technology stack (what you are especially good at, it is not necessary to describe all the frameworks and technologies here, just a few). 2. Experience (projects) Further, it is important to show that you have gained sufficient experience on previous projects, they were interesting and complex, which means that you, as a specialist, are needed and suitable for the customer. You need to stop at two or three projects, if there are a lot of them, you need to choose the last one and one or two of the most interesting ones. All projects should be described according to the same structure, for better perception by the customer. We suggest using the following scheme: ● A full technology stack you worked with and what experience you have ● Test writing experience ● Experience in code review or refactoring ● What methodologies were used ● The size of the teams in which you worked or managed (minimum-maximum) ● How the decomposition and estimation of tasks were done, if they took part ● Experience in solving project architecture issues ● Performing the duties of a lead, technologist, mentor, manager or similar. 3. Information about yourself Here it’s important to draw up a conclusion and it’s the only one possible here - that you’re exactly the candidate who should be chosen for the project. It’s a good idea to speak about your strengths, certificates, managerial and mentoring activities, etc. Below you can find some examples, but of course, you may have the ones of your own: ● Experience in general (the one you haven’t mentioned earlier in the point 2): technical stack, what you have worked with and what experience you have; experience in
Self-presentation manual writing tests; experience in code review or refactoring ● Which methodologies you’ve been using ● The number of people in the teams you’ve worked with/ you’ve mentored (minimal and maximal size) ● How the decomposition and task estimation were held and whether you’ve participated in these processes; experience with project architecture ● Say whether you’ve had Lead responsibilities, or the ones of a technologist, mentor, manager, or sth similar ● Any other information that shows you as a great and strong candidate. 4. Ending the self-presentation Your self-presentation should always contain a final sentence which will clearly show that you have finished speaking about your experience, thank the interviewer for the attention and point out that you’re ready to answer the questions. For example: ”This is a brief information about my experience, now I’m happy to answer all you questions”; “That is the information I wanted to share about myself and my experience, if you have any questions - I’m ready to answer them”. The interviewer may ask you to speak about any difficulty you have had. You need to tell such a story from your own experience and you can make use of the “STAR technique”. STAR means: ● Situation — describe the particular situation or problem. ● Task — the task you have faced. ● Activity — what you have done to fulfill this task and solve the problem. ● Result — what the final result was.
