As expert in literature give them five criteria to judge whether the poem is Traditional or Modern. SECTION C: (45 Marks) Answer any three (3) questions from this section. 7. With reference to Soyinka‟s THE TRIALS OF BROTHER JERO and THE LION AND THE JEWEL, analyze the use of dramatic devices in conveying message to the audience. Give three points from each play. 8. Makwela taught you in class that, a poem likes Poor Woman by Jwani Mwaikusa may at all not be relevant in your society yet it is in other societies. In this sense, a work of art must not necessarily be relevant to every society but it must be relevant. Choose two poems which are relevant in your today‟s Tanzania society and show their relevance by giving three points from each. 10. African societies may be one in many ways but greatly differ in culture. Justify this statement showing African traditional practices depicted in the two plays you have read under this section.(Give three points from each play).
