A. OUTLINE (This outline is provided as a guideline and can be adjusted to meet the specific requirements of your group) I. Executive summary II. Overview of customer profile III. Stakeholder analysis 1. Customer Value Chain Analysis (CVCA) Systematically identifies individuals, groups, or organizations affected by or capable of affecting project outcomes. 2. Power/Interest Grid Once identified, stakeholders are assessed based on their interest and influence. While no stakeholder is ignored, engagement strategies are tailored to their potential to support or obstruct the project. IV. Problem analysis 1. Problem identification Problems are identified and assessed through various forms of evidence and relevant data - documents, websites, interviews, meetings, observations, etc. - supported by a wide range of analysis techniques, such as trend analysis, benchmarking against industry peers or internal units, and others as appropriate. 2. Root cause analysis Once a problem is agreed upon, root cause analysis is used to uncover the underlying causes behind its symptoms, for later solution development. Techniques such as the fishbone diagram help in this process. V. Action recommendations 1. Recommended options for satisfying the business need As business problems seldom have a single resolution, multiple potential options, supported by relevant analysis, should be presented. Ideally, the shortlist should be refined to three or four alternatives, with the "do nothing" option included to allow consideration of the value of maintaining the current state.
2. Feasibility and impact assessment To later select the most viable option, the feasibility and impact of each option must be assessed and compared. 3. Solution recommendation Based on earlier analysis, the most viable option should be recommended as the solution, with a high-level description of the functions. The roles and interactions of partners within the system should also be clarified, and CVCA can help in this process. VI. Evaluation 1. Risk analysis Risk analysis identifies, analyzes, evaluates and manages uncertainties that may negatively impact value during or after a transition to a future state, guiding recommendations for action. Each risk is assessed for its possible consequences, impact, likelihood, and potential time frame that it might occur. 2. Limitations assessment Assess limitations of the solution and organization, and recommend actions to overcome limitations and improvements to increase solution value. VII. Reference list
