These themes help students explore and understand the complexities of the world and their place in it. The curriculum is designed to be broad and balanced, ensuring that students gain a deep understanding of various subject areas such as language, mathematics, science, social studies, the arts, and physical education. This integrated approach encourages students to make connections across different disciplines, fostering a holistic understanding of knowledge. These themes are: Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, How We Organize Ourselves, and Sharing the Planet. These themes allow students to explore significant concepts that transcend subject areas, promoting a holistic approach to education. Through these themes, students engage in meaningful inquiries that help them connect their learning to real-world contexts. Approaches to Learning Approaches to Learning (ATL) are essential skills that students develop throughout their PYP journey. These skills include thinking skills, communication skills, social skills, self-management skills, and research skills. ATL skills are embedded in all areas of the curriculum and are explicitly taught and practiced. By focusing on these skills, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to become independent, lifelong learners who can navigate complex challenges and engage in meaningful inquiry.

Through various units of inquiry, students learn about global challenges such as poverty, climate change, and human rights. They are encouraged to take action on these issues, whether through community service projects, awareness campaigns, or sustainable practices. By fostering an understanding of global interdependence, we aim to empower students to make a positive impact on the world, promoting peace, justice, and sustainability. Assessments Assessment in the IB PYP is continuous and varied, providing comprehensive insights into student learning and progress. It includes continuous formative assessments happening regularly, which help to give feedback to the students to improvise, and summative assessments, which evaluate student understanding at the end of each topic. Reflection is a key part of the assessment process, encouraging students to think critically about their learning. Assessments are designed to be authentic, involving real-world tasks that demonstrate students' knowledge and skills in meaningful ways. This approach ensures that assessment is integral to the learning process, supporting student growth and development.
