XIM UNIVERSITY, BHUBANESWAR Master’s/PG Programs RECOGNITION XIM University, Bhubaneswar consists of Thirteen schools: Xavier Institute of Management, School of Human Resource Management, School of Rural Management, School of Sustainability, School of Human Settlements, School of Commerce, School of Communications, School of Economics, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Governance and Public Affairs, Xavier Law School, School of Liberal Arts and XAVIER-EMLYON Business School. Xavier Institute of Management was established in 1987, and it was offering PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-RM (all awarding diplomas), and FPM programs. These programs were introduced over a period of time. With the formation of XIM University (formerly Xavier University), Bhubaneswar, various Schools of Management have been created and these earlier programs have been renamed as MBA-BM, MBA-HRM, MBA-RM & Ph.D Programs, since XIM University as a University can award degrees. In terms of quality, content, duration, delivery etc., the MBA programs remain identical to the PGDM programs. XIM University has been accredited with an “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). MBA-BM has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for six years. MBA-BM, MBA-HRM, and MBA-RM have been awarded accreditation from South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) by the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). The University is also a member of AACSB and is on track to be awarded the AACSB Accreditation. THE OLD CAMPUS The Xavier Institute of Management, XIM University is located on 20 acres of verdant campus on the Nandan Kanan Road at Xavier Square. The entire Wi-Fi enabled campus houses the faculty residences, office complex, library and computer center complex, classroom complex, auditorium complex, Bloomberg Lab, residences for gents, ladies, and executive program participants, Management Development Centre (MDC), and Studio Apartments. In addition, the Institute has a floodlit basketball court, two floodlit tennis courts, an indoor badminton court, a pool table, a gymnasium, and floodlit playgrounds for cricket and soccer. The students of MBA-BM stay here and attend classes. EMBA-BM students also attend classes here. THE NEW CAMPUS The New campus is located on 55 acres of land, surrounded by natural beauty and it is a digitalized campus with Wi-Fi and with state-of-art facilities. This campus is at Nijigada, Kurki, under Pipli Tahsil, situated at a distance of 20 km from our Old campus (12 km from the Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik International Airport). It was inaugurated on July 7, 2014, by Shri. Naveen Patnaik, the Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha. The students of MBA-HRM, MBA-RM, MBA-SM, MBA-UMG, MMS-BF, MA-MC, MSc-Economics, M.Tech-CSE, MURP, MPPG, Ph.D, and Under-graduate courses of School of Commerce, School of Communications, School of Economics, School of Computer Science & Engineering, Xavier Law School, School of Sustainability, School of Governance and Public Affairs, and School of Liberal Arts stay there and attend the classes. LIBRARY XIM University Libraries go far beyond the realm of just a compilation of books. It is a treasure house of information and knowledge that employs trained professionals to preserve, systematize and administer, so that they can contribute successfully to the continuing education and self-improvement of students, research scholars and faculty members by providing meaningful assistance in identifying, extracting, and disseminating proper information from the maze of materials available in its resources. The student-centred paradigm and new learning and teaching approaches have created the importance of the roles and responsibilities of our Library in learning and teaching processes. From its inception, it has had an enviable collection of textbooks, reference materials, electronic data bases and professional journals worldwide. Over the years, it has acquired other resource materials such as: audio visuals, working papers, annual reports, and summer projects. Besides the print materials, the old and new campus Libraries have various electronic resources in the form of Corporate and Economic databases (Indian/International) like EBSCO (Business Source Complete), ABI Inform Complete, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier (Science direct), JSTOR, Emerald Management Xtra, Sage Database, J-gate, ISI Emerging Market database, CMIE, India Business Insight, Statista, Euromonitor International and Indiastat, LexisNexis, EPWRF, Taxmann, and IEEE - CSDL. XIM library subscribes to e-books from reputed publishers like Harvard Business Publishing, Oxford, Springer Cambridge, Sage-e-Vidya, and Ebrary. All these databases are accessible from outside campus through RemoteXS. The Bloomberg Lab in the Library is first of its kind in eastern region of India. The Library Information System is accessible to its users both from within and outside the campus. The libraries at both the campuses remain open from 0800 hours to 0500 hours. All the computers are connected to the campus LAN/ Wi-Fi, which is supported by a 10G fibre optic backbone. The campus network covers the academic blocks, administrative blocks, classrooms, library, hostels, and faculty residences. All members on the new campus network have access to the internet 24x7 through 1355 Mbps leased line and at the old campus 1300 Mbps (1:1) leased line. The CRDC has designed, developed, and implemented many software applications in the University and outside. These include University Management System (UMS), Academic Information System (HIBISCUS), HR System, Alumni Information System, Library Information System (LIS), Project-based Accounting Information System (PAMIS), Inventory Management System, Pay Roll System, Leave Management System, File Management System, Office Automation System, Examination On-Line (EOL) and I-Survey. XIM University is a member of the University Alliance Program of SAP and has access to SAP (Intro to S/4HANA with GBI and ERPsim) systems with courses leveraging the SAP software. XIM University is covered under Microsoft’s Campus License program, giving the students the option to run a selection of products. Microsoft has partnered with XIM University in their vision towards developing the student’s skill base and adoption of new technologies through Microsoft Imagine Academy, to prepare the students for the new cloud enabled computing. The University has acquired Microsoft StorSimple to scale up its hybrid storage capacity in campus and on Azure cloud.
