Content text Preference Triad Guidelines (2).pdf

Objective The Preference Triad task is about comparing three different responses (also called “completions”) to the same prompt and deciding how to rank them (1st/best, 2nd, 3rd) based on how well each one is written and how suitable it is. This includes assessing grammar, tone, register, clarity, coherence, cultural nuance, and relevance. Introduction You will be given one prompt along with three possible responses (A, B, and C). Your role step by step: ● Carefully read the prompt and all three responses. ● Rank the three responses from 1 (best) to 3 (worst). ● Provide a written explanation that details your rationale for the ranking, referencing specific linguistic qualities. Important: Do not use AI or any additional tools to complete any part of this task. Key Terms
Workflow ● Step 1: Read the Prompt Carefully ○ Understand the prompt fully before reviewing the responses. ○ Note what kind of response is expected (e.g., a poem, a factual answer, a polite message) ● Step 2: Read All Three Responses ○ Read each response carefully before ranking. Some may appear correct at first glance but contain subtle errors. ○ Don’t focus only on grammar. All responses might be grammatically correct, but one may stand out as more natural or culturally appropriate. ○ Evaluate the responses using five quality dimensions to guide your ranking
