Session 1 - ILOs Students will be able to 1. introduce themselves and know about their peers through fun activities. 2. gain awareness of the goals and expectations of the program. 3. define entrepreneurship and identify key characteristics of an entrepreneur. 4. recognize the significance of technology in addressing real-life problems. 5. generate examples of tech solutions that address sustainability issues. 6. select a specific problem to address from the list of identified real-life problems. 7. form teams of fives. Session 2 - ILOs Students will be able to 1. select a specific problem to address from the list of identified real-life problems. 2. refine their initial ideas by conducting preliminary research and validating the feasibility and relevance of their chosen problem. 3. apply the principles of design thinking and its application in problem-solving and innovation. 4. develop skills in critical thinking and decision-making by evaluating the potential impact of their ideas. 5. conduct effective research, including using reliable sources and gathering relevant data. 6. identify and understand the needs of their target users or customers through research techniques such as surveys, interviews, and observations. 7. synthesize research findings to support the development of their business ideas. 8. integrate sustainability principles into their business ideas, ensuring their solutions are environmentally friendly and socially responsible. 9. explain how their business ideas contribute to sustainability goals, such as reducing waste or utilizing renewable energy. 10. have the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback on their ideas, helping them to refine and improve their business concepts. Session 3 – ILOs Students will be able to 1. will define the concept of a business model and its components. 2. analyze examples of successful sustainable business models to understand how they operate and achieve sustainability. 3. identify key elements that make a business model sustainable and successful.
4. use the Business Model Canvas as a tool for developing and visualizing their business ideas. 5. Create an identity for their app; create a logo, theme and slogan. 6. Follow the SDLC steps to create their three-page mobile application. 7. use MIT App Inventor to design 3 pages for their mobile application. 8. put time management techniques into action to help them manage their project and personal tasks. 9. create a project timeline for the remaining days of the program, outlining key milestones and deadlines. 10. develop skills in prioritization and organization, enabling them to plan and execute their tasks efficiently. Session 4 – ILOs Students will be able to 1. mention basic financial concepts such as budgeting, pricing, and cost management. 2. create a simple initial budget for their business idea, considering costs and revenue. 3. use MIT App Inventor to create the back-end for their three-page mobile app. 4. collaborate effectively within their teams, utilizing each member’s strengths to contribute to the development process. 5. engage in teamwork exercises, improving their ability to collaborate, communicate, and resolve conflicts within their teams. Session 5 – ILOs Students will be able to 1. present their initial prototypes to mentors and peers, clearly articulating their design and its intended impact. 2. iterate on their prototype design, incorporating feedback to enhance functionality and sustainability. 3. finalize their product demo or prototype, ensuring it is functional and ready for presentation. 4. ensure their prototype aligns with their business model, demonstrating how it meets the needs of their target users and sustainability goals. 5. Make use of the basics of marketing, including how to create a brand identity that resonates with their target audience. 6. develop a marketing strategy for their business, outlining key tactics for promoting their product or service.
7. apply creative thinking to design marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate their brand and value proposition. 8. Apply tips for creating effective presentations, including how to structure their content and use visual aids. 9. develop public speaking and pitching techniques to confidently present their ideas to an audience, focusing on clarity, engagement, and professionalism. 10. prepare their final presentations, incorporating feedback from mentors and peers to improve their content and delivery. 11. build confidence in their ability to effectively communicate their business ideas and solutions to an audience. Session 6 – ILOs Students will be able to 1. participate in final practice sessions with mentors, receiving immediate feedback and fine-tuning their presentations. 2. effectively prepare and organize a presentation space to showcase their work. 3. confidently present their business model and product demo to an audience, demonstrating their understanding and communication skills. 4. engage in a Q&A session, responding to questions from peers and mentors demonstrating their knowledge and ability to think on their feet. 5. receive constructive feedback from judges and mentors, gaining insights into the strengths and areas for improvement of their projects. 6. reflect on their learning experience throughout the program, identifying key takeaways and personal growth. 7. participate in a group photo and celebration, reinforcing community and teamwork, and marking the successful conclusion of the program.
