Formulate a hypothesis – the goal is to reject the null hypothesis and accept the alternative hypothesis for the study “to count as significant”. 4. Conduct experiment – setting up dependent and independent variables and trying to see how independent ones affect dependent variables. 5. Gather and analyze – results throughout and upon culmination of the experiment. 6. Formulate conclusion and provide recommendation Verification Theory – a discipline is science if it can be confirmed or interpreted in the event of an alternative hypothesis being accepted. Vienna Circle – showed metaphysics as not simple false but also meaningless; composed of elite scholars and philosophers. Falsification Theory – proposed by Karl Popper, suggest that for a theory to be considered scientific, it must be able to be tested and conceivable proven false. - Scientific theory must make predictions that can be proven true, otherwise, the predictions will be rejected if not proven correct.
